Completing Your Purchase

After you have won the vehicle you have bid or bought it outright with the Purchase it Now! button, this is what you need to do next:
  1. Follow the seller's payment instructions found on the vehicle’s bid page. Most sellers require a % deposit within a certain number of days or even hours. This demonstrates your willingness to complete the purchase and for the seller to hold the vehicle. Most sellers will also have a certain period of days to have the vehicle picked up and to complete the transaction.
  2. When you Checkout you must send in your deposit and confirm that it has been sent on the OAA system. If your item is under $20,000 it is optional to use our Escrow or Checkout Service. We advise the use of Escrow service to protect your payment. If you are having the vehicle shipped and you do not know the seller and/or the seller has little or no feedback then protecting your payment while you inspect the vehicle is the safest option through OAA Escrow.
  3. The Checkout system will calculates the deposit amount and the balance of payment owing. Once you send in your deposit and confirm it being sent, then it is up to you to contact the seller to make your arrangements for pick-up and delivery of the vehicle and to pay the balance of payment.
  4. After you receive the vehicle, please do not forget to leave feedback for on the seller in terms of the transaction process.
  5. As a professional courtesy, always contact the seller within 24hrs of the auction to begin the transaction. This avoids any misunderstandings.

How Our Escrow Service Works

Our OAA Escrow service gives you extra peace of mind and secures the transaction. The buyer sends their payment to the Escrow. The Escrow then notifies the Seller payment has been received. The buyer then either has the vehicle shipped to them for inspection or inspects the vehicle where the vehicle is located or has an inspection service do it for them. Once the buyer gives approval that they are satisfied, then the Escrow releases the money to the seller. If the vehicle was shipped to the buyer and rejected, then the Escrow will not send the money back to the buyer until the seller has received the vehicle and approves. The OAA Escrow Service is mandatory for vehicles over $20,000 and is optional for vehicles under $20,000. The OAA Escrow service fee is set at .005% of the vehicle total and is added to the Escrow amount. Buyers and Sellers can negotiate in the Escrow fee to the transaction amount if they want. The OAA Escrow service is higly recommended for sales where the buyer has not dealt with or does not know the seller. As stated the Escrow protects the seller as well if the vehicle is rejected by the buyer. The Escrow will not be released back to the buyer until the vehicle is received back by the Seller and is declared in good condition. If the vehicle is damaged, a damage fee may be assessed against the Escrow by OAA with proper documentation.
